Following our work with the print edition of Wang Jingwei & Modern China, we have been asked to produce each of the six e-books from the series.
In addition, we have exciting plans for other e-books, which we will market, promote, and publish by our affiliate EIGHT CORNERS BOOKS™.
These examples represent some of our book productions in different stages of the process. They range from presentations of archival and historical material to personal, artistic expressions. What they have in common is our commitment to tell unique stories.
Original source materials unveiled for the first time
Presented with a trove of primary source materials, our first task was to carefully decipher and transcribe thousands of pages of never-before-seen manuscripts. This challenge was matched only by the marketing of a six-volume series about a time in modern Chinese history which remains little understood to this day. The result?
Finding beauty in a city with a troubled reputation
Photographer and author Cindy Ho found beauty and energy in the colors, textures, physical space, and most of all, the people of Macau, a tiny enclave off the coast of China. More than a collection of photographs, additional research, statistical information and historical background completes this volume as a tribute to the people of Macau.
A designer’s journey to where the writing is
A Hong Kong born graphic designer’s chance encounter with a pictographic script became a photographic journey to discover an aspect of China, and what “Chinese people” meant through the writings of its ethnic groups. EIGHT CORNERS™ helped select thousands of images and curated the voluminous material into the catalog and a series of exhibitions.
Some examples of websites we designed and built include an awareness-raising platform for a non-profit advocacy organization, a newly launched cookbook, and a searchable archive for the work of an author and journalist, and a six-volume book series.
